Dual Credit Adjunct Faculty - Criminal Justice

Job Summary

InsideHigherEd is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach in the Criminal Justice department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching up to seven semester credit hours within the discipline of Criminal Justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach face-to-face courses at the 8750 Central Expwy, Dallas site location, during the day, Monday/Wednesday, or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule.
  • Develop and manage the class syllabus, ensuring it meets department and college standards.
  • Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
  • Assess student grades based on participation, performance, assignments, and examinations.
  • Assist and mentor students as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians of students in the Dallas ISD's Dual Credit P-Tech program in Criminal Justice.
Requirements
  • Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field of Criminal Justice or a terminal degree in the field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the subject area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates with current relevant professional credentials.
  • Teaching experience at the high school, college, or university level.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Prior relevant industry experience.
  • Bi-lingual (English-Spanish) skills.
