Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach courses in Criminal Justice at Texas A&M University - Commerce. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field or a terminal degree in Criminal Justice. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the subject area and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach up to seven semester credit hours within the discipline of Criminal Justice.
  • Develop and manage the class syllabus to meet department and college standards.
  • Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments.
  • Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
  • Assist/mentor students as needed.
  • Have good communication with parents & guardians of students in the Dallas ISD's Dual Credit P-Tech program in Criminal Justice.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the field or a terminal degree in Criminal Justice.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the subject area.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.
  • High School, College, or University teaching experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Prior relevant industry experience.
  • Bi-lingual (English-Spanish).
