Position: Telecommunications Field Specialist
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Employment Type: Full Time/Permanent + On Call
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (08:00 – 17:00) – 40 hours per week
On Call Compensation: $10/day during weekdays and $25/day for weekends and public holidays
Overtime Pay: 1.5x hourly rate for hours exceeding 40 in a week
Benefits: Monthly car allowance of $500 and fuel reimbursement at $0.59 per mile

Role Overview
As a Telecommunications Field Specialist, you will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely project delivery, adhering to budget constraints and maintaining the highest quality standards. You will focus on developing technical engineering skills while complying with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide round-the-clock support as part of a technical escalation team.
- Execute installation, cabling, and wiring tasks.
- Install grounding equipment and frameworks according to established standards.
- Manage and run cables, including power, fiber, and ethernet, ensuring proper connections.
- Perform cleaning and inspection of fibers, label equipment and cables, and provide smart hands support for network and server hardware.
- Conduct troubleshooting, racking and de-racking of devices, and perform maintenance tasks.
- Carry out quality inspections on completed work and oversee third-party subcontractors at designated locations.
- Provide additional services such as cage or rack builds, fiber installations, circuit migrations, and audits.

- Build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Adhere to company and local standards, procedures, and protocols, focusing on engineering KPIs.
- Uphold Health & Safety and Engineering Quality standards.
- Demonstrate a customer-focused professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
- Follow written and remote instructions with precision.
- Utilize router/switch commands (Cisco) and perform basic support tasks independently.
- Connect equipment via console ports and manage loopback connections.
Competencies and Qualifications
- Essential:
- Valid US Driving License.
- Cisco Certification.
- Experience in Manual Handling.
- Demonstrated experience with fiber optic cabling in Data Centre and customer premises environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot faults using test equipment such as LSPM.
- Familiarity with Cisco/Juniper CPE devices and remote console connection troubleshooting.
- Experience in installing, labeling, testing, and cleaning fiber optic cables.
- Desirable:
- Juniper JNCP certification.
- Experience/accreditations with DWDM/Transmission vendors (Ciena/Infinera/Huawei, etc.).
- RF Awareness.
- First Aid certification.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Adaptable approach to meet business needs.
- Hands-on experience with installation and commissioning activities, test equipment, and network build.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Basic understanding of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) concepts.
