Job Title: Spacecraft Software Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Spacecraft Software Developer to join our team at Maxar Technologies. As a key member of our spacecraft software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software for our industry-leading Worldview Legion satellites.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge spacecraft software development projects. You will be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, creativity, and technical expertise. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing software for spacecraft systems, including guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR), and thermal systems.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and ensure seamless system operation.
  • Developing and executing unit-level and open-loop test suites to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert for software domains, processes, and system-specific issues.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-15 years of software development experience, depending on position level.
  • Expert embedded C++ programming skills on multicore-processor architecture.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: GNC, FDIR, thermal systems, command and telemetry processing, or embedded systems architecture.
Preferred Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working on satellite software development from inception to launch.
  • Experience with large-scale satellite software development projects.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $107,000.00 to $229,000.00 annually, depending on location and experience.
