Position Overview

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for comprehensive management and oversight of designated locations within a specific geographic area. This role involves direct supervision of hourly staff and, in certain instances, providing supervisory support. The Facilities Operations Manager ensures that operational standards are upheld, locations are adequately staffed, wage rates align with budgetary constraints, and consistently works to enhance the development of team members. Through site evaluations and effective communication, this position guarantees customer satisfaction at all levels.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruitment and Training: Champion the company's strategic principles and core values while recruiting and hiring personnel to ensure accounts are staffed according to contract specifications.
  • Task Management: Assign duties to employees and inspect their work for cleanliness and completion.
  • Scheduling: Develop work procedures and prepare schedules while maintaining adherence to the labor budget.
  • Training Programs: Conduct new hire orientations, safety training, and job-specific training to ensure employees can perform tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review necessary paperwork, including time sheets, accident reports, and employee training records.
  • Employee Relations: Foster open communication by addressing employee relations issues and providing coaching to empower success.
  • Customer Engagement: Build relationships with clients by regularly visiting accounts to ensure the highest quality of service.
  • Issue Resolution: Address problems and complaints promptly to maintain optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Account Monitoring: Oversee assigned accounts for potential work order opportunities and additional services that can be integrated into existing contracts.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all mandatory quality control site visits are conducted and documented.
  • On-Site Support: Spend time at account locations to support outcomes that meet customer needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in business-level English, both verbal and written.
  • Two to three years of management experience in a related field, preferably within the janitorial industry.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Knowledge of carpet care, floor cleaning techniques, and operation of floor care equipment.
  • Dependability, thoroughness, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in technology use, including the internet, email, and office software.
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Organizational skills with proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, depending on account requirements.

Physical Requirements: This position may require lifting objects up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands include reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and the ability to write and see.

Licensure: A valid state driver's license is required to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, as significant travel between accounts is necessary. Reliable transportation is essential for travel to various accounts within the assigned territory.
