Mission Statement: Our goal is to provide reliable, highly available, and user-friendly services to our internal stakeholders, supporting the Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government clients.
We are in search of a proactive engineer who is committed to delivering exceptional results for our clientele. This is a hands-on role where your daily responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing current services, such as Windows build and deployment capabilities, managing application packaging and deployment requests, and addressing break/fix scenarios across all technologies managed by the team.
This position requires close collaboration with the Security Compliance team to ensure adherence to security standards across all desktop environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust and varied technical background, enabling them to tackle challenges with confidence and creativity. A commitment to continuous learning and adapting to rapid technological advancements is essential for improving our offerings.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of core Amazon Development Center services, which include:
- Directory services
- File and print services
- DNS/DHCP management
- Application server management
- Server hardware and infrastructure management
In the initial months, you will:
- Enhance operational management systems and processes to support rapid growth in systems and traffic.
- Drive prompt resolution and root cause analysis for critical service issues.
- Mentor and develop a team of Operational Engineers, focusing on delivering reliable services.
- Implement continuous improvements in operational processes.
- Balance upfront costs with usability, operability, and total cost of ownership (TCO) in both data centers and on-site services.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced system health monitoring, diagnostics, and self-healing automation.
- Create automation tools and processes to minimize manual efforts and enhance overall efficiency.
- Innovate and improve monitoring and visualization of system health, maintenance task statuses, and reporting systems.
- Associate's degree or relevant certifications (Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience supporting Windows operating systems, including four (4) of the following competencies: AD, DHCP, PowerShell, Email workflow, SCCM, SCOM, Windows OS, DNS, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
- At least three (3) years of experience in automation/scripting within the Windows environment using PowerShell.
- Defined knowledge of basic networking skills and troubleshooting.
- Experience in automating tasks such as software packaging, deployment, automated security patching, and Operating System Deployment.
- Current, active U.S. Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Over ten (10) years of experience supporting Windows operating systems.
- Current certifications (Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
- Strong experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Multi-Factor Authentication in an Active Directory environment
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
- Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Just-In-Time (JIT) & Just-Enough-Administration (JEA)
- Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), including infrastructure management, backend storage, and disaster recovery.
