Position Overview:

The Consumer Credit Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of loan requests at BankPlus. This position is essential for ensuring that all loan applications adhere to established quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and align with the bank's internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and approve consumer loan and credit card applications, ensuring thorough underwriting and appropriate risk assessment.
- Collaborate with loan officers to address any issues and ensure sound loan decisions are made.
- Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of the Loan Policy.
- Assist in the preparation for annual audits and examinations, both internal and external.
- Oversee the underwriting and approval process for employee loans, excluding Executive Officers.
- Conduct second reviews of adverse actions on HMDA applications and monitor non-HMDA second reviews for Fair Lending compliance.
- Manage employee overdraft payment decisions and refund requests for NSF/Overdraft fees on employee accounts.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of BankPlus products, services, and relevant regulatory issues, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy Act, Fair Lending Act, Regulation Z, and Regulation E.

Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree coupled with a minimum of ten years of experience in consumer lending, including consumer real estate lending.
- In-depth understanding of banking regulations and the bank's operational policies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work autonomously, resolve issues efficiently, and make informed decisions.
- A proactive team player with a talent for building relationships across the organization.
- Exceptional prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, complemented by strong listening skills.
- Proficient in consumer loan software and experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as required.
