Position Overview:

The Consumer Credit Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of loan requests at BankPlus. This position ensures that all loan applications adhere to stringent quality standards, comply with applicable regulations, and align with bank policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and approve consumer loan and credit card applications, ensuring thorough underwriting and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with loan officers to address any issues related to loan decisions prior to final approval.
- Support loan officers in understanding and applying the Loan Policy effectively.
- Participate in internal and external audits and examinations.
- Manage the underwriting and approval process for employee loans, excluding Executive Officers.
- Conduct second reviews of adverse actions on HMDA applications and oversee non-HMDA second reviews in relation to Fair Lending practices.
- Administer decisions regarding employee overdraft payments and NSF/Overdraft fee refunds.
- Maintain vendor invoice payments for services such as credit reporting.
- Stay informed about Bank products, services, and relevant regulatory issues, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy Act, Fair Lending Act, Regulation Z, and Regulation E.
- Complete necessary compliance training and uphold the Bank's standards of conduct.
- Engage in the High-Performance Rewards Connections program by making referrals.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree coupled with a minimum of ten years of experience in consumer lending, including consumer real estate lending.
- Up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations and the Bank's policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work autonomously, resolve issues promptly, and make informed decisions.
- Highly motivated team player with the ability to foster relationships across the organization.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the capability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, complemented by strong listening abilities.
- Proficient in consumer loan software and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours as necessary.
