Job Summary

Veolia North America is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication, and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication, and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical equipment to determine repairs needed.
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and repair defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing devices.
  • Re-assemble and test equipment ensuring safe and efficient operating conditions are restored.
  • Perform facility maintenance and repair, including replacing or installing light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, damaged glass, windows, doors, partitions, ceiling or floor tiles, door locks, carpet, and/or paint.
  • Operate vehicles for plant operational purposes.
  • Learns to estimate time and material costs for various projects.
  • May assist in other areas of the plant as directed.
Work Environment

This role requires 100% of the time to be spent in the operations environment. You will be exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather. Company service vehicles are used as required. You may be required to travel 2 times per year for company-provided training. You may also be required to serve in a rotational 24-hour emergency on-call capacity.

Physical Requirements

This role requires standing for 25% of the time and walking for 75% of the time, for up to five miles per shift. You will be required to use your hands to finger, handle, or feel, and frequently reach with your hands and arms. You will work in various positions, including ladders, catwalks, and supports at heights of 50 feet above the ground. You will also work with hands extended above and below head and body up to 40 minutes using hand tools weighing up to 15 pounds. You must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds (occasionally 60 pounds) distances of 10 feet. You will also be required to occasionally stoop, bend, or kneel and enter confined spaces.
