Position Summary:
The College of Education at UCCS is establishing a pool of Lecturers for the Student Affairs in Higher Education program, from which future temporary, non-tenure track appointments will be made. These positions are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be filled on a semester-by-semester basis.
Responsibilities:
Lecturers will be responsible for teaching courses related to Student Affairs in Higher Education, which may include topics such as:
- Leadership in Student Affairs
- Team and Organizational Dynamics
- Social Foundations of Higher Education
- Theories of College Student Development
- Counseling and Support Skills in Higher Education
- Legal and Ethical Considerations in Higher Education
- Financial Management in Student Affairs

- Diversity and Inclusion in Higher Education
- Culturally Responsive Practices
- Crisis Management and Response
- Practicum/Internship in Student Affairs
Typically, graduate courses are conducted in-person on campus, while undergraduate courses are offered asynchronously online.

Work Environment:
Work location will depend on the course modality: on-site for in-person classes, remote for online courses, or a combination for hybrid courses.
Compensation:
The salary range generally starts at $3,000 per 3-credit hour course. This position is eligible for paid sick leave, and further information on benefits is available.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in the relevant course content area
- Availability to teach in-person or online asynchronous classes
Preferred Qualifications:
- A terminal degree (e.g., PhD, JD)
- Previous relevant teaching experience
- Active participation in professional development activities related to the course content area
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent movement is required while performing job duties
- Occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds occasionally
