Position Summary:

TechNix LLC is in search of a seasoned and proactive Director of Project Management to spearhead the operations of our Project Management Office (PMO). This pivotal role demands a leader with extensive knowledge and experience in IT project oversight, change facilitation, and strategic integration to ensure the successful execution of a diverse range of IT initiatives.

The ideal candidate will guarantee that projects are delivered on schedule, adhere to defined scopes, and remain within budgetary constraints while cultivating a culture of ongoing enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Direction:

  • Direct and oversee the PMO, establishing the strategic vision and ensuring alignment with the broader organizational objectives.
  • Ensure that the PMO's operations are in sync with TechNix LLC's IT strategies.

Policy Formulation:

  • Create and enforce PMO policies, procedures, and methodologies to guarantee effective project execution.
  • Establish standardized project management practices and documentation.

Project Management:

  • Supervise the execution of multiple concurrent IT projects, ensuring optimal resource distribution, risk mitigation, and quality assurance.
  • Monitor project advancements and modify plans as necessary to secure successful outcomes.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Engage with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and project managers to prioritize and implement projects that align with strategic goals.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant policies, standards, and regulations.

Team Development:

  • Provide mentorship and direction to project managers and teams, fostering professional growth and best practices.
  • Encourage a collaborative and high-performance environment within the PMO.

Performance Evaluation:

  • Conduct regular project assessments and audits to ensure compliance with PMO standards and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Implement corrective measures as required.

Financial Oversight:

  • Oversee the PMO budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
  • Track financial performance and introduce cost-saving initiatives when feasible.

Reporting Duties:

  • Provide updates on project status, challenges, and risks to the Director of Business Relations and Governance, Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and other executive stakeholders. Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to the executive team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in IT project and program management with a proven history of delivering complex projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and standards (e.g., EVM, PMBOK, PMI, Agile, Lean).
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and drive high-performance teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills (e.g., scope, issues, risk, and corrective action plan management).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of change management principles and practices.
  • Experience in a government or public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

Experience Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of IT and business/industry work experience, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
  • At least 7 years of leadership experience in a managerial role, with 5 years managing significant and complex IT projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing a PMO in a large enterprise environment, with a focus on strategic alignment and performance improvement.

Preferred Experience:

  • Extensive experience working within the public sector or large-scale government projects, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of such environments.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other large-scale IT implementations.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is required.

Preferred Educational Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications in project management or related fields (e.g., PgMP, MSP).
  • Additional coursework or certifications in leadership, strategic planning, or change management.
