Position Overview:

The Electrical Test Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and documentation of avionics development, qualification, and acceptance testing. This role involves conducting tests and analyzing Environmental/EMI data to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for avionics systems.
  • Analyze Environmental and EMI test data to identify performance issues.
  • Investigate and determine root causes of failures during avionics testing.
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external laboratories to facilitate test execution.
  • Support the development of test equipment to enhance testing capabilities.
  • Operate effectively within an environmental and EMI laboratory setting.
  • Ensure hardware requirements are traced and verified throughout the testing process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in hardware development, integration, systems engineering, or testing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in planning, executing, and reporting on electronics testing.
  • Strong practical and analytical skills in both analog and digital electronics.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, particularly in technical contexts.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. as a citizen, permanent resident, or lawful admission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461.
  • Knowledge of various sensors including LVDT, RTD, thermocouples, pressure transducers, resolvers, and accelerometers.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and MATLAB, as well as Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting test networks.
  • Ability to program, debug, and troubleshoot microcontroller-based devices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like git for software development.
  • Advanced degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering, or a related field is a plus.
