Director of Information Technology, College of the Liberal Arts

The College of the Liberal Arts at the Pennsylvania State University seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Information Technology to provide strategic leadership and vision for ITLA (Information Technology Services of the Liberal Arts). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing existing IT services, developing new services based on evolving needs, and ensuring the College can achieve its research and teaching goals.
The Director of IT will possess a high level of business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to advocate for and manage complex resources that support IT operations. They will work collaboratively to provide faculty and staff with innovative and seamless support as they move through their teaching, research, service, and administrative responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of emerging trends in IT, excellent problem-solving analysis and critical thinking skills, and the ability to learn new things quickly and independently. They will also possess a proven ability to work successfully in a diverse work environment and demonstrate a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for ITLA
- Oversee and manage existing IT services
- Develop new services based on evolving needs
- Ensure the College can achieve its research and teaching goals
- Advocate for and manage complex resources that support IT operations
- Work collaboratively to provide faculty and staff with innovative and seamless support
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and ten years of relevant experience, including three years of supervisory experience
- Excellent problem-solving analysis and critical thinking skills
- Ability to learn new things quickly and independently
- Proven ability to work successfully in a diverse work environment
- Commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community
