Job Summary

As a valued member of the CAE USA team, you will be part of a collaborative and dynamic environment where coworkers prioritize not only their work products but also their customers, the community, and each other. Our software engineers are integral to the program team, striving to exceed customer expectations by supporting computational systems architecture and system software for real-time simulation applications. Key responsibilities include creating new and modified simulation models using established techniques, working closely with other engineering disciplines, and leading by example with a positive approach, strong work ethic, and ownership of tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute software plans to meet program requirements within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Provide timely and accurate status updates on budget, schedule, and technical issues.
  • Manage software engineers assigned to the program, ensuring program milestones are met while maintaining focus on quality and customer needs.
  • Coordinate with other program leadership to ensure appropriate engineers are assigned to the program.
  • Support other program leadership as required.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting military or defense programs.
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, interpersonal, and listening.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced development environment and a willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressure.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive criticism.
  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work, and site travel (CONUS).
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance within a five-year investigation period.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with continuous integration, automated testing frameworks, build management, and artifact management.
  • MS Windows, Linux, Unix, Qt, DDS experience.
  • Experience with Aerodynamics design and RF Systems.
  • Experience with Flight Simulation and/or Radar Systems.
  • Familiarity with aircraft avionics 1553 protocol and simulator experience.
  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of different testing methodologies (e.g., White/Gray/Black box testing).
Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside the company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company-provided resources.

Salary Range: $117,900 - $147,400
