POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Machine Operator 1 (MO1) at Loram Maintenance of Way, you will be tasked with the operation, upkeep, and repair of essential railway maintenance and inspection machinery. This role offers the chance to handle Loram's on-track maintenance-of-way (MOW) equipment and/or on-track vehicles, working under guidance in both operational and travel capacities. Your responsibilities may vary depending on the equipment platforms required by the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety Commitment
- Lead thorough job briefings during operational and maintenance shifts.
- Adhere to established safe work practices and procedures consistently.
- Demonstrate proficiency in on-track safety protocols.
- Locate and operate emergency equipment effectively.
Machine Operation and Technical Expertise
- Perform machine inspections to identify and report issues.
- Accurately document parts used and execute maintenance tasks.
- Understand machine functions and their operational procedures.
- Maintain thorough documentation and daily reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Internal: At least 3 months of experience with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 operational environment.
External: Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations.
Licenses/Certifications: Required certifications include Railroad Certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a valid Driver's License.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position may necessitate extensive travel, including international assignments, utilizing various modes of transportation. Candidates should possess strong cognitive abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to adapt to physical demands and challenging conditions within a railway environment.
