Job Summary

Touro University New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced librarian to manage its library collection, provide reference and bibliographic services, and supervise the daily operations of the library.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collection Management: Oversee the selection, organization, preservation, and retention of college-level materials in various formats, ensuring the library's collection meets the needs of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Reference and Instruction: Provide expert guidance on the use of library resources and services, including online databases, e-books, and other digital materials, to support academic research and learning.
  • Library Operations: Supervise the daily activities of the library, including personnel management, facilities maintenance, collection management, and record-keeping.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive library environment.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in librarianship, attending conferences, workshops, and online courses to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of bibliographic database searching, strong customer service and organizational skills, ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Hebrew, experience with library management systems, and familiarity with academic libraries.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Extensive use of computers, extensive time sitting and standing, ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
Compensation

Minimum Salary: USD $45,324.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary: USD $56,655.00/Yr.
