Role SummaryAs a vital member of the Sanitation Department, your primary responsibility will be to maintain cleanliness and safety throughout our facilities. You will oversee the daily operations of the sanitation team, ensuring that all areas are inspected and sanitized consistently. Collaborating with a team of skilled professionals, you will strive to achieve exemplary sanitation standards that align with our commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute all necessary tasks to ensure that equipment is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for subsequent production.
- Understand the operation and functionality of all sanitation cleaning tools.
- Be knowledgeable about the purpose and application rates of various sanitizers and cleaning agents.
- Ensure that all personal protective equipment is well-maintained and utilized correctly.
- Stay updated on all changes to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) related to cleaning products and sanitizers.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding all aspects of the cleaning process.
- Provide on-the-job training for new sanitation staff and assist in training initiatives that support the manufacturing workflow.
- Promote teamwork during major cleaning projects.
- Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Understand the operation and functionality of all waste removal equipment used in the facility.
- Maintain cleanliness in all work areas and equipment, ensuring they are free from debris.
- Keep accurate records of cleaning activities in accordance with Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
- Operate various sanitation equipment, including but not limited to floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, and steam cleaners.
- Perform additional duties as required or assigned.
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or light industrial setting.
- Forklift certification is essential.
- Experience in sanitation within Food Manufacturing, Food Safety, or Industrial Truck operations is advantageous.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays may be necessary.
3rd Shift - Weekend work required.
