The University of Florida seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Laboratory Technician to join our team in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. As a key member of our research group, you will assist in conducting experiments, analyzing results, and presenting research findings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, molecular cloning, and protein purification.
- Assist in conducting experiments and analyzing results, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with other laboratory members to achieve research goals and objectives.
- Present research results at laboratory meetings and contribute to the development of research projects.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities and findings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA work, PCR, gel electrophoresis, molecular cloning, and protein purification.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior laboratory experience with molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA work, PCR, gel electrophoresis, molecular cloning, and protein purification.
- Experience with culturing mammalian cells, protein purification, and bacteriophage work.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with education, skills, and experience.
