Consulting Systems Engineer Role

As a Consulting Systems Engineer, you will serve as a technical consultant to multiple customers in the DOD, providing mission-aligned strategies to ensure the customer identifies the right solutions to solve their technology challenges.

You will work in partnership with a talented Client Manager to build consultative relationships as the technical liaison, expanding WWT's footprint of services capabilities from deployment services to post-deployment strategic staffing.

This role is located in the NCR and will consist of predominantly local meetings with the potential for up to 25% travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced to expert-level technical information in at least one specialization and design and implementation guidance to one or more customers in a dedicated manner.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers on strategic, large, and complex opportunities and coordinate additional resources to recommend, develop, and propose appropriate customer solution and services offerings.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the account team, partners (OEMs), and customers at the technical and Manager/Director level.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with customer technical staff, identify opportunities, and develop solutions aligned to their understanding of the customer's mission and support requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Display an advanced technical acumen of multiple technologies and/or solutions (e.g., CCNP, JNCP, and/or equivalent).
  • Preferred: 7-10 years' progressive experience in a federal or military IT or Transport field, as a Technical Specialist, System Engineer, or comparable.
  • Preferred: 3-5+ Years field technical sales experience as a Systems Engineer or equivalent.
  • United States citizen required.
  • DoD clearance is preferred.
  • Preferred experience supporting DISA, JSP, and/or Mildeps.
  • Technology focus areas in Transport, Optical, and MPLS networks preferred.
