Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Supervisor to join our team at Norman Regional Health System. As a key member of our Central Supply and Sterile Processing Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective processing of surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Department Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the Central Supply and Sterile Processing Department, including decontamination, inspection, preparation, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments, procedure totes/carts, and bedside durable equipment.
  • Infection Prevention: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of infection prevention principles and practices, and ensure compliance with applicable accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • Workload Management: Plan, prioritize, and manage workload to accommodate instrument and equipment needs, and troubleshoot issues that arise.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and mentor other team members to provide optimal CSSPD services.
Requirements
  • Education: High school education or equivalent GED.
  • Experience: Two years minimum of recent Central Supply, Sterile Processing, and/or Surgical Services experience required.
  • Certification: Must have CRCST or CSPDT certification or obtain the credential within 9 months of accepting the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associates degree or beyond in a related field (i.e. Surgical Technology, Supply Chain Management, etc).
  • Certification: CHL or CSPM credential preferred.
  • Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel, and Outlook; experience working with Instrument Tracking Systems; experience ordering supplies/instruments preferred.
