About the Position

The Medical Assistant will work in a dynamic and fast-paced clinic environment, providing administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support
    • Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling correspondence.
    • Assist with the preparation of patient charts, medical records, and other documents as required.
  • Clinical Support
    • Assist with the preparation of patients for medical procedures, including vital sign collection, medical history, and medication administration.
    • Perform basic clinical procedures, such as ear lavage, EKGs, and basic first aid.
    • Assist with the administration of medications and vaccinations, as directed by the healthcare team.
  • Lab and Phlebotomy Support
    • Assist with the collection and processing of laboratory samples, including phlebotomy and urinalysis.
    • Perform basic laboratory procedures, such as blood glucose testing and urinalysis.
  • Immunization Administration
    • Administer vaccinations and immunizations, as directed by the healthcare team.
    • Assist with the maintenance of immunization records and tracking of patient vaccination status.
  • Committee Participation
    • Participate in the development and implementation of healthcare policies and procedures.
    • Assist with the coordination of healthcare events and activities.

Requirements

  • Education and Certification
    • Medical Assistant certification or equivocal training and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
    • Basic computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
    • Experience in a medical office, hospital, or healthcare setting.
    • Experience with Electronic Health Record and Telehealth.
