  • Guide the team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of resilient, scalable (99.98%), and secure systems.
  • Establish and refine operational workflows to guarantee seamless IT infrastructure and service management.
  • Partner with cross-regional teams to enforce best practices for software system development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Oversee major incidents from identification to resolution, conducting post-incident analyses to derive actionable insights for future improvements.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs, SLIs, SLAs, SLOs) to assess operational success.
  • Analyze and enhance system performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
  • Effectively manage budgets and resources.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement strategies to boost efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Lead incident response efforts, performing root cause analyses and implementing preventive measures.
  • Champion the development and deployment of automation solutions to optimize operations and minimize manual tasks.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise a team of Infrastructure Reliability Engineers, including recruitment, assessment, training, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Own and advance the company's cloud infrastructure strategy and team roadmap.
  • Evaluate and enhance reliability engineering processes and protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance by collaborating with stakeholders to make informed decisions and direct team efforts.
  • Engage in comprehensive system design and implementation discussions to ensure the development of high-quality systems. Collaborate closely with our Software Development and Engineering teams to establish reliable, production-ready services and applications.
  • Participate in rotational on-call support, responding to, diagnosing, triaging, and resolving production incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A decade of experience in IT, with a minimum of two years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical foundation in cloud computing, networking, security, and automation.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of Networking, Load Balancers, DNS, NTP, and TCP/IP.
  • Familiarity with AWS technologies: Global Accelerator, ALB, NLB, EKS, EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, or equivalent experience with Google Cloud.
  • Experience with container technologies and orchestration.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure Automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet/Foreman.
  • Experience with web servers like IIS, Apache, Nginx.
  • Strong grasp of monitoring and alerting system design principles.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Icinga, SolarWinds, New Relic, Grafana.
  • Solid scripting capabilities; experience with Shell, Bash, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Ruby.
  • Experience in establishing CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or Azure DevOps).
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer are advantageous.
  • Experience with F5 products: LTM, AWAF, GTM, AFM, BIGIQ.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies: ELK, Beats, Kafka, Redis, Searchguard.
  • Experience with application monitoring tools like Uptrends.
  • Experience with Postfix.
