About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure that all medical procedures are conducted in accordance with industry regulations and BioLife's policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Manage donor adverse events, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Review laboratory test results and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
  • Participate in pandemic investigations and support pandemic response efforts as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current licensure or certification as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • English and Spanish proficiency.
