The role of Director of Business Development – Space is now available.

Role Responsibilities:

This position is pivotal in steering and implementing strategies, assembling a proficient team, and overseeing the entire capture process for our space-related projects. You will play a crucial role in driving growth within our space sector.

Key Objectives:

  • First Six Months:
    • Forge and cultivate a robust partnership with the General Manager to gain insights into the existing business landscape, client base, and organizational goals.
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our technical capabilities and their applications.
    • Identify current opportunities, assess the pipeline, and refine strategic approaches.
    • Lead the capture strategy for significant opportunities.
  • First Year:
    • Collaborate with both internal and external technical experts on research and development initiatives.
    • Enhance and establish customer relationships, leading to increased engagement and exposure.
    • Formulate a strategic vision for business development, alongside a detailed execution plan.
  • Beyond One Year:
    • Achieve comprehensive market insight, identifying future growth and expansion opportunities.
    • Guide and align team performance with strategic objectives.
    • Take responsibility for both immediate and long-term strategies, capturing opportunities, and managing customer relationships.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of space markets and operational environments.
    • Strong understanding of antenna systems and RF payloads.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Demonstrated success in achieving significant sales growth.
    • Established connections with both traditional and emerging space suppliers.
    • Experience with SDA and NRO payloads.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the space industry.
  • At least 5 years in strategic business development with a proven record of successful captures in the space sector.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Possession of or eligibility for Secret or Top Secret Clearance is preferred.
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency to comply with ITAR/EAR regulations.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and a criminal background check as per company policy.

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position eligible for the benefits listed above. This role is classified as exempt, meaning it is paid on a salary basis and is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $170,000-$215,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible for a sales incentive plan.
