We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Admission Specialist II PRN to join our team at Sovah Health - Martinsville.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients, obtain demographic and financial information, and collect payments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with all phases of scheduling, pre-registration, and registration processes.
  • Ensure accurate and complete data entry into the registration system.
  • Distribute forms, documents, and educational materials to patients and their families.
  • Maintain effective communication with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Schedule appointments and communicate changes with relevant departments and colleagues.
  • Verify insurance benefits and validate authorizations/pre-certifications.
  • Review physician orders for completeness and compliance requirements.
  • Process payments, establish payment arrangements, and review patient propensity to pay.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of CPT & ICD10 codes, Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Payers, as well as Medical Terminology.
  • Ability to type 30 WPM with high accuracy.
  • Decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking skills and medium-level problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
