About the Role

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Precision Biomarker Labs team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge proteomics workflows to drive breakthrough research and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop novel proteomic workflows for protein analysis and biomarker discovery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into biomarker hypotheses and verify them in large cohort studies.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in mass spectrometry platforms, including Thermo and Sciex instruments.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in proteomics and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of new assays and workflows for protein analysis and biomarker discovery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot and optimize proteomics workflows.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for proteomics workflows and assays.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mass spectrometry-driven proteomics, with a focus on human health applications.
  • Experience with laboratory automation and coding skills (R, Python) for data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of protein biochemistry and practical knowledge of bottom-up proteomics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
