Position Overview
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will deliver specialized accounting support to meet departmental and organizational objectives. Your role will encompass the aggregation, consolidation, and examination of financial data necessary for both internal and external reporting, fiscal strategy, and evaluation of special projects. You may also oversee or guide the activities of accounting personnel.

Key Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis (50-55%)
    - Generate financial and managerial reports while developing supporting documentation.
    - Investigate, analyze, and interpret financial outcomes, providing summaries of financial statements.
    - Prepare schedules and assist external auditors to ensure the accuracy of data and compliance with established accounting standards and corporate policies.
    - Contribute to the development of financial models.
    - Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts as needed.
  2. General Ledger Accounting (30-35%)
    - Review and verify general ledger activities, addressing any discrepancies identified.
    - Prepare month-end journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements, including complex accounts.
  3. Additional Accounting Functions (20-25%)
    - Maintain transaction records for planning and project activities.
    - Recommend procedural and system enhancements to optimize accounting data processing.
    - Provide guidance and training to accounting staff as necessary.
    - Assist in the design and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with accepted accounting principles.
    - May involve preparing tax returns and cross-training to support accounting staff.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, showcasing proficiency in financial reporting, bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and ad hoc reporting.
Knowledge and Skills:
- High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer applications and software, particularly Excel, with demonstrated experience in financial reporting and analysis tools.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a customer-service orientation and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Other:
- CPA certification is preferred.
