Industrial Maintenance Specialist

This position requires an individual who will perform a variety of tasks related to the safe and efficient application of technical skills and knowledge to maintain industrial machinery, conveyors, and mechanical systems associated with the manufacturing of forestry products.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems, major machine centers, and mechanical systems.
- Read and understand drawings and printed instructions.
- Work safely under high-pressure situations and be a self-starter.
- Possess basic understanding of line-ups of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Adjust tension on nuts and bolts or position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb tools.
- Assemble and install equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Lay out mounting holes using measuring instruments and drill holes with a power drill.
- Replace defective parts of machines or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts.
- Level bed-plates and establish center lines using straightedges, levels, and transits.
- Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
- Attach moving parts and sub-assemblies to basic assembly units using hand tools and power tools.
- High School Diploma/GED or a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment or 1 year in Wood Products.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated math and reading comprehension skills.
- Demonstrated/working knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated pattern of safe behavior.
- Willingness to acquire additional education/skills via continuing training courses as necessary or required.
- Ability to work effectively with the shift supervisor in seeing the needs of the shift and department.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
