Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customer specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.

This role requires a high level of productivity, experience in multiple crafts, and expertise in the use of equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for safe and effective surface preparation and application of coatings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customer specifications and manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Assemble, maintain, repair, and clean painting equipment.
  • Mix and thin coatings according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Construct protective enclosures to avoid overspray of customers' equipment.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Perform onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees.
  • Keep the jobsite clean by keeping it clear of all trash, unused paint materials, etc.
  • Cooperate with Gulf Coast Industrial Project Manager and customers in carrying out assigned work.
  • Direct the Helper/Laborer in proper work performance and job requirements.

Requirements

  • Highly productive and experienced in multiple crafts.
  • Expertise in the use of equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for safe and effective surface preparation and application of coatings.
  • Ability to hold and control 100 psi nozzle pressure.
  • Proficient in spraying to maintain even mileage.
  • Knowledge of and experience in different coatings (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters).
  • Knowledge of Hazardous waste management.
  • Some knowledge of rigging.
  • Proficient in all Safety aspects of the craft.
  • Proficient in QA/QC requirements of the craft.
