About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Design Engineer to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Airports Team, you will be responsible for leading various airport engineering and planning projects at commercial service and general aviation airports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to the transportation engineering discipline on aviation-related projects.
  • Prepare reports, develop project design elements, including plans, specifications, and estimates.
  • Identify and analyze principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and need.
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Practice Leaders in other Business Lines.
  • Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Civil PE License in Alaska is required.
  • 7 years of professional experience in the field of civil engineering.
  • Thorough knowledge and application of FAA design standards and specifications.
  • Proficient in design of aviation/civil engineering projects, including alignments, profiles, typical sections, site grading, and drainage.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • MS Office program experience, especially Word and Excel.
