About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer to join our New Shepard program at Blue Origin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the technical aspects of our reusable suborbital rocket system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop technical solutions for the New Shepard program, including CAD models and drawings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design and manufacturing requirements are met
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including interface control documents and geometry for Finite Element Models
  • Coach and mentor other designers and team members on technical aspects of the project
  • Ensure design and manufacturing processes meet company, program, and industry standards
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry
  • Proficiency in design and integration using Creo Parametric
  • Experience in Windchill
  • Proficiency in drawing generation, checking, and release processes
  • Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience with primary structure and surfacing
  • Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers, etc.
  • Experience working in a multi-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products
  • Excellent attention to detail and task ownership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of proven experience in aerospace development (launch vehicle or aircraft)
