Generator Technician Job Description

Nixon Power Services is a leading distributor of Kohler Power generators, with a rich history of success spanning over 100 years. We're seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team, who will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality and timely service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance on standby generator systems to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines, as well as transfer switches and other electrical equipment.
  • Install and test new generator units, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
  • Complete and submit work orders and reports in a timely manner, and prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
  • Follow safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical school certificate or military training a plus.
  • 1-5 years of experience in generator repair and maintenance, with a focus on Kohler Power Systems a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
