Job Summary

The Banquet Captain is a key member of our hospitality team, responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of events and functions held in our hotel. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner, setting the tone for a positive event experience.
  • Coordinate with event hosts to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring that all details are met and exceeded.
  • Plan and organize event logistics, including setup, service, and breakdown, to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Supervise and train banquet staff to ensure that they are providing exceptional service and meeting the high standards of our hotel.
  • Monitor event progress, making adjustments as needed to ensure that all aspects of the event are running smoothly.
  • Communicate effectively with the banquet team, kitchen staff, and other departments to ensure that all aspects of the event are coordinated and executed to perfection.
  • Ensure that all event details are accurately recorded and communicated to the relevant parties.
  • Conduct pre-shift and pre-function meetings to review event details and ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Actively participate in the setup and service of events, ensuring that all aspects of the event are executed to the highest standard.
  • Communicate frequently with event hosts to ensure that their needs are being met and that they are satisfied with the event experience.
  • Ensure that all event checks are accurately processed and that all revenue is accurately recorded.
  • Monitor the profitability of events, making adjustments as needed to minimize waste and maximize revenue.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new event concepts and ideas, ensuring that they are aligned with the goals and objectives of our hotel.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
