Job Title: AV Technician

Job Summary:

The Brookings Institution is seeking an experienced AV Technician to join our Communications Events team. As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for the effective operation of audio-visual systems and technology to support high-profile outreach and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meeting AV Support: Provide AV support for on-site meetings in the conference center, including setup and testing of all audio-visual equipment.
  • Event Support: Provide AV support for on-site events, including preparing rooms for speakers and presentations, reviewing presentations and videos, and operating AV equipment.
  • Technology Maintenance and Improvements: Maintain and operate a wide variety of audio-visual tools, perform routine maintenance, and conduct regular operational tests.
  • Studio Support: Provide surge and leave coverage for studio operations, including conducting live, remote, and pre-recorded audio and video interviews.
Requirements:
  • Education/Experience: Minimum of three years of experience providing audio-visual support for high-profile events and meetings.
  • Knowledge/Skill Requirements: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact diplomatically with staff and high-profile guests, and knowledge of audio and video signal distribution, audio mixing, web-based collaboration platforms, and computer-based production software.
