Sanitation Manager Job Description

Champion Foods LLC is seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of sanitation and food safety in our plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily operations of the sanitation function, including monitoring and reviewing line performance, scheduling cleaning, and maintaining equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, AIB International, and BRCGS standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Lead a team of sanitors, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular plant inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage the department budget and provide input on capital budgets and strategic plans.
  • Research and implement new technologies to drive continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree in environmental health or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 4-7 years' experience in sanitation and food manufacturing, with in-depth knowledge of chemicals, sanitation equipment, and quality assurance.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a sanitation supervisory role, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Evidence of ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and cleaning equipment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices for food safety.
  • American Institute of Baking (AIB) certification or state certification in sanitation.
  • Knowledgeable of HACCP, FDA, AIB International, and USDA compliance.
