Maintenance Technician Job Description

Idahoan Foods is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment failures to minimize production downtime.
  • Adjust and maintain belt drive systems, conveyor belts, and other equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Manage maintenance work orders and reporting using a computerized system.
  • Complete routine paperwork and maintain accurate records.
  • Clean and organize work areas, and store tools and equipment properly.
Requirements:
  • Two years of trade school and/or a minimum of 1-year experience in maintenance.
  • Quantitative skills and knowledge of math functions, including percentages, decimals, and fractions.
  • Fundamental understanding of process or packaging equipment in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Certifications in forklift operation, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting pumps, gear boxes, and motors.
  • Ability to work from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions for hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with cutting torch applications and welding fundamentals.
Working Environment:

The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and conditions. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in areas with moving parts and loud noise.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to work various shifts as assigned by the Supervisor. The Maintenance Technician will work alongside Maintenance Leads and Senior Technicians, communicate with department leads and supervisors, and be accountable to various departments of plant management.
