Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, the role involves performing a range of tasks utilizing various tools and supplies to uphold cleanliness standards and ensure a safe environment across all designated areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to departmental protocols to maintain a secure environment. This includes preparing equipment for use, addressing any immediate discrepancies, completing scheduled assignments, and reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- 2. Sanitation Duties: Execute cleaning tasks to ensure all areas are sanitary. Responsibilities include high dusting, cleaning furniture and surfaces, maintaining bathrooms, and ensuring all dispensers are stocked.
- 3. Waste Management: Carry out trash removal duties to maintain cleanliness. This includes collecting recyclables, breaking down cardboard, and ensuring proper disposal of medical waste.
- 4. Handling Contaminated Items: Follow established protocols for the safe handling and disposal of contaminated materials, ensuring that all waste is managed correctly.
- 5. Bed Management: Support room availability by efficiently managing patient room turnover and maintaining accurate data for bed management.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: A minimum of six months of customer service experience is required. Successful completion of the Environmental Services training program is essential.
Special Skills: Strong customer service and communication skills are necessary. The ability to read, write, and perform basic math is required, along with the capability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
