Position Overview: B.L. Harbert International is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to oversee electrical operations on international project sites. The successful candidate will be accountable for the entire electrical construction contract, focusing on production efficiency, safety protocols, and quality assurance. Given the limited use of subcontractors, a strong background in construction methodologies is essential for effective project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the project electrical manager/engineer to align on schedules, progress updates, and technical requirements.
- Oversee material requisitions to ensure alignment with site and foreman needs.
- Analyze and interpret project drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and present look-ahead schedules and progress reports to senior management regarding site electrical advancements.
- Manage the inventory and distribution of tools effectively.
- Work closely with the quality control team to identify and rectify defects and compliance issues.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the US Government.
- Willingness to relocate internationally for project durations of 2-4 years.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills.
- Ability to mentor less experienced electricians in safety standards and electrical practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of construction practices with a focus on self-performed work.
- Experience supervising construction projects, particularly within Department of Defense or Department of State environments.
- Familiarity with NEMA, UL electrical materials, and NFPA70E codes and standards.
- Experience in direct labor supervision, minimizing reliance on subcontractors.
