Job Overview

As a vital member of the oral surgery team, the Oral Surgery Surgical Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating surgical procedures and ensuring optimal patient care. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, from assisting surgeons during operations to maintaining a sterile and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, ensuring precision and efficiency.
  • Document patient care meticulously, contributing to comprehensive medical records.
  • Prepare for surgeries by managing preoperative tasks and equipment.
  • Engage in discussions with the surgical team to monitor patient status and address any concerns.
  • Obtain essential radiographs and develop detailed patient narratives.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Licensed Dental Assistant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS Certification is necessary (or to be completed within one month of hire).
  • Ability to work effectively both in teams and independently, demonstrating sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and listening skills, particularly in emergency situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in oral surgery is advantageous.
  • DAANCE certification is a plus.
  • Radiology certification is beneficial.
