Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist in the creation of menu items as directed by the Chef.
  • Adhere to safe food handling practices and cooking protocols.
  • Ensure adequate food supplies at cooking stations for seamless service.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with fellow cooks, wait staff, and the broader food and beverage team.
  • Monitor and assess food quality through tasting, smelling, and temperature checks.
  • Plate and portion dishes consistently according to presentation standards.
  • Measure and combine ingredients per recipes or established guidelines.
  • Label, date, and rotate all stored food items appropriately.
  • Adjust cooking equipment settings to maintain optimal temperatures.
  • Familiarize yourself with all kitchen appliances for proper usage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of kitchen equipment and food service items.
  • Uphold a clean and safe workspace by following food safety and equipment protocols.
  • Comply with health regulations and contribute to a sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Perform cleaning tasks including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
  • Clean work surfaces, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen areas.
  • Execute closing tasks such as equipment maintenance, cleaning, and organizing storage areas.
  • Assist in the organization of incoming orders.
  • Communicate any schedule changes or absences in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain upon hiring.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Previous culinary experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment is beneficial.
  • Teamwork skills are essential.
