Clinical Aide

Job Summary:
The Clinical Aide provides administrative and patient care support within the appropriate scope of practice to ensure a quality patient experience while adhering to FCN company policies and standards.
The specific tasks and responsibilities of this position may differ by Clinic setting and can include some or all of the duties listed below.
Patient Registration Responsibilities:
- Greet patients upon arrival to the clinic, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information and generating fee slips.
- Obtain patient photograph at appropriate intervals in the registration process.
- Take accurate phone messages and documents messages directly into the EMR in a timely manner.
- Answer and accurately direct phone calls, requesting necessary information to appropriately route calls. Communicate in a professional, calm, and patient manner.
- Accurately schedule patient appointments within Clinic guidelines.
- Scan insurance cards and applicable forms and documents as needed.
- Assist walk-in patients in identifying an approach to accessing care.
- Provide cross-coverage in all registration roles as directed.
Population Management Responsibilities:
- Monitor and perform required tasks on the Population Management reports.
- Supply pertinent reports to Clinical Assistants at appropriate intervals.
- Contact patients and schedule appointments when due for care.
- Mine data from the hospital system and update the FCN EMR record.
- Contact Specialty Care clinics for records (i.e. eye exams and pap exams).
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Support the clinical team by performing basic tasks in the rooming of patients including documenting the height and weight of the patient, obtaining the vitals by using an automated blood pressure machine, and providing any necessary paperwork for the patient to review for further discussion with the Clinical Assistant and Provider.
- Perform Retinal eye exams as directed.
- Perform supply stocking, autoclaving, and storing of equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and weekly checks of equipment.
- Clean exam rooms to the appropriate standard and process laundry.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned responsibilities using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Utilize knowledge, experience, and critical thinking skills to deliver a safe, effective and therapeutic care experience for the patients of FCN.
- Consistently meet the quality and compliance standards and always work within the appropriate scope of practice.
- Seek assistance as needed and ask questions promptly and professionally to the appropriate staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Acquire and maintain current BLS certification.

An employee accrues PTO at a rate based upon the number of months of service at FCN.
EIB accrues based upon the number of paid hours excluding overtime, with a full-time employee accruing a maximum of 48 hours per year.
Benefit eligibility is determined based on the full or part-time status of the position.
Employees who are ineligible for FCN's PTO/EIB programs accrue Paid Sick Leave per Washington State law.
Our 401k retirement plan is designed to support you in preparing for retirement planning and include individualized financial planning guidance.
Eligibility for the FCN Retirement Plan programs is determined based upon years of service and required payroll hours.
Our clinical staff members are eligible to receive an annual uniform allowance.
