Responsibilities

- Ensure the highest quality of food served to guests and staff, continually seeking innovative ways to enhance the culinary experience.
- Manage daily kitchen operations across all service areas, including in-room dining, banquets, and purchasing.
- Lead and mentor the culinary team, focusing on recruitment, retention, and motivation while ensuring a safe work environment.
- Conduct interviews, training, and performance evaluations, while maintaining open communication and addressing any issues that arise.
- Oversee the procurement, preparation, and presentation of all food offerings, adhering to safety and cost-effectiveness standards.
- Monitor kitchen sanitation and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Develop and manage the culinary department's budget, analyzing costs and implementing strategies to meet financial objectives.
- Create and implement innovative menus that enhance revenue and profit margins while upholding quality standards.
- Promote a safe workplace by adhering to our Accident Prevention Program and minimizing liabilities.
- Maintain excellent attendance and lead by example in all aspects of the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in line with your position.
Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of post-secondary education, with culinary training preferred.
- At least five years of experience in a leadership role within the culinary field.
- Proven ability to manage costs while delivering exceptional quality and creativity in food service.
- Advanced knowledge of food service principles and practices, including management of personnel and complex issues.
- Familiarity with hotel operations, including marketing, safety programs, labor relations, and business planning.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop staff, ensuring achievement of departmental goals.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to various audiences.
