Underground Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a skilled Underground Fixed Maintenance Technician to join our team at our underground operations. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our fixed mining equipment, including crushers, conveyors, and pumps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair of surface and underground fixed mining equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with the Underground Fixed Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize maintenance tasks and ensure equipment is running at optimal levels.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of conveyor systems and ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps.
  • Basic fabrication skills, including welding and cutting, brazing, and air arc.
  • Ability to identify parts needed for repairs by make, model, size, and type.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, and ability to apply those skills to troubleshoot and repair systems.
  • Ability to read and use precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and hand tools.
  • Excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days.
