Job Title: Field Geologist

UES is seeking a highly skilled Field Geologist to join our team in Dallas. As a key member of our drill crew, you will assist the crew chief in solid stem and hollow stem auger drilling techniques. Your duties will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing visual soil classification and conducting field tests to determine soil properties
  • Preparing detailed boring logs and taking site photographs to document field activities and sample locations
  • Participating in drilling and sampling operations using manual or power-operated hand augering equipment
  • Installing, reading, and interpreting field instruments such as observation wells, inclinometers, etc.
  • Observing field activities for compliance with project objectives and preparing reports documenting activities
  • Practicing loss prevention techniques and providing liaison with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives
  • Loading and unloading trucks, catching and recording samples of drilling cuttings, and assisting in measuring test boring locations
Requirements:
  • 1-5 years of Geotechnical Engineering or Geology experience required
  • High school diploma or GED; Geology degree preferred
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a safe driving record
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness with project results required
  • Punctuality, reliability, and dependability are essential
  • Ability to walk and stand continuously throughout the day and lift, carry, and push up to 40+ pounds regularly
