Senior Associate, State and Local Tax Specialist

As a Senior Associate, State and Local Tax, you will be part of a dedicated team at PerkinElmer, a global leader in scientific solutions. Our team collaborates closely with commercial, government, academic, and healthcare customers to deliver a broad portfolio of analytical solutions and OneSource services.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review Sales & Use, Excise, and Personal Property Tax Returns, Business Licenses, and coordinate payments to ensure accuracy and manage deadlines.
- Prepare state tax estimates and extensions, maintain corporate compliance calendars, and respond to inquiries from state tax authorities.
- Validate customer exemption certificates, issue certificates to vendors, and serve as a principal contact for Indirect Tax inquiries.
- Prepare and review state tax refund requests, state income tax apportionment workpapers, and research taxability of customers and products.
- Assist with other non-recurring domestic compliance or planning projects as they arise.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- 3+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Team player, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
- Experience with SAP and SOVOS.
- Canadian HST, PST, QST is desired.
