Job Title: Diesel Technician In Charge

Job Summary:

Ryder is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Technician In Charge to join our team in Racine, Wisconsin. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for assisting and training technicians, providing exceptional customer service, and overseeing parts distribution and inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist and train technicians as needed to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to daily customers, responding to their needs and concerns
  • Oversee parts distribution and inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and management
  • Assist with shop reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, and payroll administration
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification preferred
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in diesel mechanics, with a focus on heavy-duty vehicles
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficient in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $31.00 per hour
  • Certification bonus: up to $700 for new ASE certifications
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign-on bonus: $2500 at 30 days and $2500 at 90 days
