MRI Senior Technologist

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled MRI Senior Technologist to perform complex MRI procedures, review requisitions, and evaluate patient charts. Key responsibilities include performing MRI procedures, reviewing requisitions, identifying patients, selecting equipment, assessing patients' physical and emotional status, explaining the examination, and following MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations. Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide exceptional care and service, respond to the uniqueness of the patient, and identify and report equipment malfunctions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complex MRI procedures on a scheduled and emergency basis
Review and evaluate requisitions for MRI imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed
Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers
Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy
Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs
Explain the examination and answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Magnetic field environment
Follow MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations
Practice High Reliability Communication techniques
Consistently provide exceptional care and exceptional service
Respond to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family
Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application
Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations
Perform additional tasks as delegated by manager or Assistant/Chief Technologist
Requirements
Registered Radiologic Technologist - MRI
Associates Degree: Allied Health
3 years of experience working as an MRI Technologist
