We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Powerplant Technician to join our team at Amentum. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing organizational, intermediate, and limited depot level maintenance on aircraft powerplant systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform troubleshooting, testing, and repair of powerplant systems, including fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine-mounted gearboxes.
- Remove and inspect engine components, repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble and install engines in aircraft.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical directives, and safety manuals to ensure compliance with maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with other technicians to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum three years' experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably in powerplant systems.
- Experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Possess a high degree of expertise in aircraft systems.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance manuals and special tools.
- Familiarity with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems.
- Thorough working knowledge of corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment.
This classification activity is usually accomplished in a hangar/shop/flight line environment, requiring physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities.
May be required to lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds and work in areas with high noise hazards, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards.
