Aircraft Surface Preparation and Coating Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Surface Preparation and Coating Specialist to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for preparing aircraft surfaces, applying coatings and paints, and ensuring the highest quality finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare aircraft surfaces for coating and painting, including cleaning, sanding, and treating surfaces.
  • Apply coatings and paints to aircraft surfaces, including low observable coatings and materials.
  • Monitor and verify quality of coatings and paints, using statistical process control procedures.
  • Input data as required, using work order software such as Solumina.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective surface preparation and coating processes.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of relevant experience in composite laminate layup and/or applying primer, low observable, and topcoat materials on F-35 canopies.
  • Experience with surface preparation and coatings/painting and/or anti-corrosion chemical application and treatment.
  • Experience using hand tools, such as sanding tools, cutting blades, brushes, scales, templates, and various other hand tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet deadlines.
