About the Role

Cytiva is seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Engineer II to join our team in Pensacola, Florida. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for supporting the development of new products, materials, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform operation management of R&D equipment and pilot facility.
  • Design experiments to support new products, materials, and/or processes development.
  • Learn and apply DBS tools to solve problems, improve process capability, reduce variation, and eliminate waste.
  • Plans, organizes, and supervises the work of technicians supporting assigned tasks/projects.
  • Characterize materials properties using various analytical techniques.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field (MS or BS degree in engineering or other relevant field with 3-5 years of experience in operations and lean manufacturing).
  • Independent, good judgment, positive attitude, and an innovative spirit.
  • Ability to organize lab area maintenance to ensure a clean and safe work area.
  • Ability to work safely and to align with the company's health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of polymeric membrane separation process and membrane characterization.
  • Working knowledge of Minitab, statistical analysis, or Design of Experiment (DOE).
